Raymond Finelli, a native Rhode Islander, has been a member of the Providence Art Club since 1970 and has served on its Board of Managers. He studied with the Rhode Island School of Design's Edna W. Lawrence and has been specializing in portraiture for 25 years. He is a past president of the South County Art Association and has been teaching portrait painting at the Providence Art Club for the past ten years.
His commissions have included portraits of other artists, business executives, historic figures, many children, and portraits for families in England, Turkey, and Ghana in Africa. His work is also in private and public collections across the U.S. Before retiring, he operated Raymond Finelli Associates, a Providence-based industrial advertising agency. He has received awards at the South County Art Association and the Providence Art Club.
