TANYA TRINKAUS GLASS
"To successfully capture the wonder and excitement of nature and life through one's art,
is the fullfillment of one's destiny." Tanya
*********************
All her life, Tanya Trinkaus Glass has loved and appreciated the miracle and balance of nature. With her mother an artist and pianist and her father a biologist and birdwatcher, Tanya learned to see and feel the wonders of the world around her and
to wonder at the miracle of it all. She grew up living near Long Island Sound in Stony Creek, Conn., with a salt cove and lobster shack in front of her home and the woods and ponds in her back yard.
After working many years as a librarian while raising a family, she now concentrates primarily on her art. She paints in many media, using each one to best create the vision or feeling she wishes to create at the time. Tanya has the freedom to give life to her work and ideas using different media. She can draw or paint more expressively with some media and have more structure and control with others. She captures the life and atmosphere each of us experiences as we live with nature through walks, drives, aromas and sounds. She does her best work when she feels the inner ‘life’ and vitality in the subject of her interest, particularly in nature. In her art, Tanya is continually experimenting to find the best way to express herself in order to communicate her visions, her inner soul, and her impressions.
She is a member of several art associations, including the Art League of Bonita Springs, East Greenwich Art Club, Mystic Art Association, Naples Art Association, Newport Art Association, Providence Art Club, Southwest Florida Pastel Society, and the Wickford Art Association.
Her works have been exhibited in various galleries across New England and in Florida, either as a member or through juried entries. They have won many awards. These galleries include: Art League of Bonita Springs, The Coastal Gallery, Framers’ Gallery at Mariners Square, the Mystic Art Association, the Newport Art Museum, Spring Bull Studio and Gallery, Sunaarts Gallery (NH), Providence Art Club, Wickford Art Association, Warwick Museum, Cape Cod Art Association, South County Art Association at Helme House, and the Naples Art Association at the VonLiebig Art Center (FL). Most recently she is represented by the Framers’ Gallery at Mariners’ Square in Narragansett, R.I. Tanya's works are found in private collections nationwide and in corporate collections locally.
