This solo exhibition will feature the contemporary plein air paintings of Elsie Kilguss, generated outdoors during the day, and at night in all types of weather. Laying in large masses of color quickly and using color that is bathed with light, Kilguss provides the viewer with stunning studies of light and atmosphere, of hauntingly beautiful grey days and serene twilight. Her work is a labor love; colorful, expressive canvases communicate her ability to capture moments in time. In her fourth solo exhibition at the Providence Art Club, Elsie Kilguss will transform the cozy Dodge House Gallery into a memorable expression of a deep respect for nature, and all its beauty.
